This policy explains what personal data Saylor processes when you use the Saylor apps for iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac and this website, why we process it, and how you stay in control of it.
1.Who we are
Saylor is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For anything about your data, write to support@dosaylor.pro.
2.The short version
- We process what Saylor needs to work: your account, your tasks and the settings behind reminders and sync.
- Your voice recordings and task text go to OpenAI only after you agree on the “AI processing” screen in the app. Saylor doesn’t keep recordings, and OpenAI doesn’t use API data to train its models.
- There are no ads, no third-party analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data.
- You can delete your account and all its data in the app at any time: Settings → Account → Delete account.
3.What we process
Your account
You sign in with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple. With Sign in with Apple we receive an identifier and the email address Apple shares with us, which can be a private relay address. Accounts are managed by Supabase Auth, which stores passwords only in hashed form.
Your tasks and lists
- Tasks: title, notes, dates and times, category, priority, and the finish-by and start dates of ongoing tasks.
- Time you track on tasks with the timer.
- Categories you create.
- Shared lists and their members. Everyone in a shared list can see the tasks in that list, so only add there what you’re happy to share with them.
Devices and settings
- Push notification tokens, so we can deliver reminders and notifications to your devices.
- Your app language and time zone, so reminders arrive on time and dates are understood correctly.
Subscription
Whether you have Saylor Pro and on which plan, and how many AI tasks you have used this month so the free plan limit can be applied. Payments are handled by Apple; we never receive your card details.
Messages to us
If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply to you.
This website
This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts.
4.Voice and AI processing
Saylor’s voice and AI features use OpenAI. They only run after you agree on the “AI processing” screen in the app. You can withdraw your consent at any time in Settings. Without it, you can still write and manage tasks by hand.
- When you record a task, the audio is sent to OpenAI for speech recognition (gpt-4o-transcribe).
- The recognised text, the names of your categories and shared lists, your app language and your time zone are sent to OpenAI (gpt-4o-mini) to turn what you said into tasks. When you change a task by voice, the task you are editing is sent as well.
- Saylor doesn’t store your recordings: they pass through our servers only on their way to OpenAI. OpenAI doesn’t use data sent through its API to train its models.
The morning motivation notification is written with Anthropic’s Claude. Anthropic receives only the language and a public quote of the day, never your tasks or any other personal data.
5.AI assistants you connect
You can connect Saylor to Claude or another AI assistant that supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You sign in with your Saylor account and decide what to allow (OAuth). Within the access you grant, the assistant can read, create, change and complete your tasks. How the assistant’s provider handles that data is covered by its own terms and privacy policy. You can see and revoke access at any time at app.dosaylor.pro/connections.
6.Why we are allowed to process your data
- Contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): to provide Saylor to you — your account, storing and syncing tasks, shared lists, reminders and notifications, and your subscription.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): to send your recordings and task text to OpenAI for AI processing. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect processing that happened before.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): to keep Saylor secure and prevent abuse.
7.Services that process data for us
| Service | What it does | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, database, server functions and sync | EU (Ireland) |
| OpenAI | Speech recognition and turning text into tasks, only with your consent | USA |
| Anthropic | Writes the general morning motivation text; receives no personal data | USA |
| RevenueCat | Purchases and subscription status | USA |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, push notifications and App Store payments | Under Apple’s own terms |
Calendar features run on your device through Apple Calendar. Our servers don’t read your calendars; events you choose to import become ordinary tasks.
8.Transfers outside the EU
OpenAI, Anthropic and RevenueCat are based in the United States. Personal data transferred to them is protected by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
9.No ads, tracking or data sales
Saylor shows no ads and uses no third-party analytics or tracking. We never sell or rent your data, and we share it only as described in this policy.
10.How long we keep data, and deleting it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account. You can delete individual tasks at any time.
To delete your account, open Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. Your account and all its data are deleted immediately. Copies can remain for a short time in encrypted backups until they are overwritten.
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
11.Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted so that only you can see your tasks, along with the members of lists you share and any assistant you connect.
12.Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- get a copy of your data and receive it in a portable format;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to processing;
- withdraw your consent to AI processing at any time.
Write to support@dosaylor.pro to use any of these rights. We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours, and we reply within the time the law requires, usually one month.
You can also complain to the State Data Protection Inspectorate of Lithuania (vdai.lrv.lt) or to the data protection authority where you live.
13.Children
Saylor isn’t intended for children under 14, and we don’t knowingly process their data.
14.Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we’ll tell you in advance, for example in the app.
